FREMM multipurpose frigate

FREMM stands for Frégate multi-mission or Fregata Europea Multi-Missione, which mean multi-purpose frigate. This warship has been delivered to the French, Italian, and Moroccan Navies. A new version – FREDA – has been planned for air-defense purpose.

NATO Chief Touts Alliance’s New Strategic Concept

WASHINGTON, May 17, 2010 – ” The new NATO strategic concept seeks to help the alliance sort through the challenges of the future and discuss where the alliance is going”, NATO’s supreme allied commander for Europe said here today.

Navy Adm. James G. Stavridis briefed the Defense Writers Group on the new strategic concept document, released today, that NATO leaders are expected to approve during the alliance’s Lisbon, Portugal, summit in November.

François MAGUIN kindly allowed me to post his compact military aviation glossary for quick reference (click on the aircraft and/or the “passenger” below).

Mr Maguin is a highly experienced English teacher at the French air force school of management and administration, and at the EOAA (French Air Force Academy – Salon de Provence) as well. He brilliantly translated Hamlet into French – a best-seller among the bilingual books. He has been involved in many works, groups and projects. This military aviation glossary should regularly be updated, the sky being the limit indeed. This publication is deemed to become no less than a must.
