SAAB’s RAPID 3D MAPPING for Military Aircraft

RAPID 3D MAPPING is a superior awareness system able to generate three dimensional maps. It processes pictures shot by digital and thermal sensors added to live georeferenced data onboard aircraft; drones; and helicopters.

It was chosen by the SDMA – Swedish Defence Materiel Administration – in order to provide 3D imagery to Gripen simulators last year.

The images can be compared several hours apart to establish whether threats can be considered in the latest analysis. As you can see in this video, the result looks quite accurate and useful for network centric warfare (NCW) purposes:

IRAN unveils stealth FLYING BOATS!

Three squadrons of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have just unveiled their brand new stealth-technology seaplane – the Bavar 2 which means Confidence 2. This aircraft would be equipped with cameras, and a machine gun. Watch the video hereafter:

US Boeing UAV helicopter tested in Belize

The A160 « Hummingbird » or YMQ-18 – its military designation – is an American unmanned helicopter that is being tested in Central America, in Belize. This VTOL – Vertical Takeoff and Landing – prototype has been developed by the U.S. DARPA & the Boeing’s R&D division, the Phantom Works. The DARPA calls this drone FORESTER – FOPEN (FOliage PENetration) Reconnaissance, Surveillance, Tracking and Engagement Radar. You can watch the video hereafter:
