Oustanding views from homemade spacecraft!

This video features an American family that managed to send a balloon into space – up to 100,000 feet – and retrieve its camera which shot outstanding views from the upper stratosphere. Special thanks to Xavier (http://passiondesavions.blogspot.com) who provided the link to this amazing footage:

Michel Fournier tested his radio connection that also will ensure physiological monitoring, as a video connection through the helmet onboard his « gondola » was tested too. Everything looked OK, but the weather compelled to postpone the Frenchman’s feat a bit later. Now it looks OK again.

64-year old parachutist Michel FOURNIER should presently jump at a speed of 1.4 Mach at Flight Level 1320 (about 40 km, or 132,000 ft), almost over the ozone layer !!!

GO MICHEL ! GO and make a historical sonic boom as Chuck Yeager did!

The balloon is being inflated. Wait and see…
