ICAO Air Traffic Radiotelephony – Transmitting Numbers

cours anglais aviation Toni Giacoia FCL .055 OACI en ligne à distance

Cours d’anglais aéronautique sur FCL ANGLAIS

Here is an audio/video file with transcript about how the numbers must be pronounced according to the ICAO (International Civilian Aviation Organization) standard. This is how aircrew members, and air traffic controllers should transmit the numbers.

CAUTION – There is not any exception for FL 100, and FL 200 according to the ICAO DOC 9432 Radiotelephony Manual, page 19, chapter 2.4.2, as it is pronounced « FLIGHT LEVEL ONE-ZERO-ZERO », and « FLIGHT LEVEL TWO-ZERO-ZERO ».
However, « Flight level one hundred » follows the French DGAC and the British CAA patterns.

Saturday night – It’s only rock and roll

If I could stick my pen in my heart
And spill it all over the stage
Would it satisfy ya, would it slide on by ya
Would you think the boy is strange? Ain’t he stra-a-ange?

If I could win ya, if I could sing ya
A love song so divine
Would it be enough for your cheating heart
If I broke down and cried? If I cri-i-ied?

I said I know it’s Only Rock ‘n Roll but I like it
I know it’s Only Rock ‘n Roll but I like it, like it, yes, I do
I like it, I like it, I like it
I said can’t you see that this old boy has been a lonely?

If I could stick a knife in my heart
Suicide right on stage
Would it be enough for your teenage lust
Would it help to ease the pain? Ease your brain?

If I could dig down deep in my heart
Feelings would flood on the page
Would it satisfy ya, would it slide on by ya
Would ya think the boy’s insane? He’s insa-a-ane

I said I know it’s Only Rock ‘n Roll but I like it
I said I know it’s only rock’n roll but I like it, like it, yes, I do
Oh well, I like it, I like it, I like it
I said can’t you see that this old boy has been a lonely?

And do ya think that you’re the only girl around?
I bet you think that you’re the only woman in town

I said I know it’s Only Rock ‘n Roll but I like it
I said I know it’s Only Rock ‘n Roll but I like it
I said I know it’s Only Rock ‘n Roll but I like it, like it, yes, I do

Well, I like it, I like it, I like it…  and so on…

A fast, fun way to learn English!

Featuring Sab Will

(Cambridge university CELTA/DELTA)

It is high time I posted an article to introduce this site to you! I have found many English-teaching sites on the web these months, but as you may have noticed, I have not quoted many among what I consider as being « very good » English lessons to become useful links on Prepa PLS Anglais.

I do believe that Sab WILL got something: ESOL students need work but they need to be touched or even amused for teaching and learning a foreign language is a human process, undoubtedly. Sab Will – an absolutely nice person – proposes several activities throughout his website www.hotchpotchenglish.com :

  • FREE ENGLISH LESSONS (just type your e-mail address into this page: )
  • Word games
  • Quizzes
  • Crosswords
  • A HINTS and TIPS section (one of a kind!) with a « test yourself » and « mini quiz » section
  • Lessons or exam questions
  • Resources section
  • « Blog » section which rather uncommon since it actually is an audio and video podcast collection
  • Forum
  • Boutique where you can find useful recources for learners and teachers as well
  • Beside the free English lessons, you can pay (though not expensive) and subscribe to the most elaborate lessons

sab_porthole_300Well, if you have already visited his website, you must have guessed that Sab is a willingness teacher, always cheering up and visibly excellent at computer science, and information technology. Last but not least, as he really is very funny, you are going to love him and particularly his Hotch Potch English sections.

Congratulations to him, and to his other « him », this virtual actor animated within the video frames who contributes to spread the English language in a never-boring way!
